Samih al-Qasim Cultural Centre
DESIGN COMPETITION - MUSEUM OF A PALESTINEAN POET
Llabres-Tabony-Di Carlo RU_Architects | Summer 2018 | Design Competition
Location: Israel
Collaborators: Enriqueta Llabres-Valls, Ilaria di Carlo, Aiman Tabony, Dimitra Bra
Scope of Work: Landscape Design and Analysis Graphics, Architectural Sections
The Museum and Cultural Centre is planned and designed around the poet’s tomb based upon the concept of the journey of a soul from the underworld, through birth, and to life in the
overworld.
The landscape design is derived from the topography, solar radiation patterns, the slope/gradation analysis, and the tensions between them. The grid for the built form and galleries is based on the patterns derived from these tensions.
